PURPOSE: Organize regular team-building events that foster personal connections and create a welcoming environment, to increase individual's sense of belonging within the organization.

Time: 1 hour for initial planning, 2–3 hours per event

STEP 1: Talk to your colleagues to identify preferred activities for team connection. List 3–5 popular ideas in a notebook or app.

Examples: virtual coffee chats, in-person lunches, or group volunteering.

STEP 2: Schedule a 15-minute meeting to pitch a recurring team-building event (e.g., monthly lunch or quarterly volunteer day). Prepare:

  • A brief plan: “A monthly virtual coffee chat to share personal updates.”
  • Benefits: “This will strengthen team bonds and inclusion.” 

STEP 3: Organize and plan the event. 

  • Choose a format.

  • Set a date, time, and platform.

  • Create an agenda 

  • Send invites via calendar or email.
