Time: 30 Minutes - 1 Hour
STEP 1:Ā Set a time for your daily walk, put it on your calendar and/or make it a āritual timeā that you will come to love. Make your grateful walk a daily priority. You may occasionally feel a lack of motivation or feel too busy to take your walk... but push past these temptations and hold yourself accountable to maintain this ritual for your well-being.
STEP 2:Ā Load up and go. As you leave your home or work, look around and really consider what youāre grateful for. Often times we think of ābig thingsā such as family, friends, or having a job - but use this time to get smaller... think about all the things you take for granted (morning coffee with a loved one, an encouraging comment a coworker made, or an opportunity on the horizon).Ā
STEP 3: Observe nature and/or the parks within your neighborhood or location - if you see a sunset, animal or something else you find beautiful, take a picture. Work to remain present during your walk and try not to let your mind wander. Use this time as a walking meditation and remember to breathe deeply, and feel the ground beneath your feet, the fresh air going into your lungs, and the warm glow of the sun on your skin.
